Sikkim-Four bills were introduced on the first day of the sitting of the Assembly.


Gangtok 10th September: The second part of the seventh session of the eighth Assembly started today at the State Legislative Assembly, Gangtok, Sikkim.
The Assembly started with an Obituary Reference on Late Shri Ram Lepcha, Former Member, Sikkim Legislative Assembly who passed on 5TH Spetember, 2012 after prolong illness. Two minutes silence was observed in the house as a mark of respect to the departed soul. The Speaker of the House Shri KT Gyaltshen read out the obituary reference on the passing of Late Shri Ram Lepcha which was participated by Shri Pawan Chamling, the Leader of the House and the Chief Minister of the State and Shri Menlom Lepcha, Member of the House.
Four bills were introduced on the first day of the sitting of the Assembly.
Shri Sonam Gyatso Lepcha, Minister for Energy and Power Department introduced the Sikkim Rolep Hydro Electric Power Project (Transfer and Vesting of Land) Bill, Bill no. 6 of 2012.
Shri Pawan Chamling, Chief Minister and also the Minister – in – Charge of Law Department introduced the Sikkim Lokayukta (Amendment) Bill, Bill no. 7 of 2012
Shri D.N.Takarpa, Minister of parliamentary Affairs Department introduced the Sikkim Legislative Assembly Members (Payment of Pension) Amendment Bill, Bill No. 10 of 2012.
Shri D.N.Takarpa, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Department introduced the Sikkim Ministers, Speaker, Deputy Speaker and Member of Legislative Assembly (Salaries and Allowances) Amendment Bill, Bill no. 11 of 2012.
The discussion and voting on the bills will be taken up tomorrow.(Source:IPR)
