New Tatkal ticket booking system from today |
The Indian Railway introduced from today new guidelines to overcome the menace of touts cornering the tatkal tickets meant for common passengers. According to Railways, under the new guidelines the booking of Tatkal tickets will start at 10.00 hours on the previous day of journey from train originating station instead of 0800 hours at present. The tatkal tickets will be exclusively issued in all computerised reservation counters and unreserved ticketing system counters between 10-12 Am from today onwards. Only two tickets can be booked per IP address between 10-12 AM. IP address check has helped in preventing multiple bookings from same office complex or internet café. Tatkal tickets cannot be booked on internet reservation system during the special time of 10 to 10.30 am for next day trains.A restriction of booking of a maximum of four passengers per PNR on Tatkal ticket has been imposed. During this exclusive period, no unauthorised agent including of IRCTC and RTAs will be allowed to book tatkal tickets. AIR correspondent reports, CCTV's have been installed at booking centres in order to monitor ant unusual activity. Also passengers looking to book tatkal tickets must carry self-attested Id proof as well as verify their mobile numbers with the concerned authority. |
