My life is a revolution for the future of Sikkim: Chamling

The Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) party president Pawan Chamling pronouncing the forthcoming schemes  in a meeting of the SDF Central Executive Committee said that the contractors’ cooperative society from now onwards will be granted works amounting to Rs 3 crores which earlier was limited to 2 crore. He also announced the establishment of model school at Assam Lingzey. He informed the gathering about the environment clearance received for the Centre for the Sky Walk project at Yangang in South Sikkim and to initiate the work at the earliest. Further he also informed that the State now will be producing its own organic fertilizer and will ban the fertilizer that comes from outside the State. Renovation the Destitute Home in the State and doublling the governmental grants and eradication of child labour from the State were the other declaration that was made by the party president.

“We have to identify that where the people and the State is heading” said Chamling signifying the gathering to move on with the present time. It is the responsibility and duty of each and every elected person of the party to educate the public about their duties, for which they have immense trust and belief on us. The State which has witnessed augmentation in the living standard, per capita income, construction of beautiful houses at the rural areas, the teachers and other government officials who enjoy a good standard of living is because of the  good policies of the SDF. He said that the frontal organisation and the other sub organisation of the party have to work in the larger interest for the upcoming development of the State. The representatives have to be clear as what ought to be done next. What are the party’s future programmes, what has to be, whether there exists anti-party culture within the party, if there has been wrong propaganda between the party and the government, that has to be taken into account said Chamling.
Quoting philosopher Confucius, the party president said that people who are into politics have  to rise above personal gains and have to be dedicated to the people and the society.
“Whatever work we are doing must be transparent” said Chamling.
“My life is a revolution for the beautiful future of the Sikkimese” said Chamling expressing that the life of human beings are always challenging and surrounded by problems.
The representatives must not be reluctant but must rather be a pillar of words and deeds said Chamling. “The workers who are not clear with the party policies are not the members of the party” he further added.
He also reminded the gathering about his last meet with the UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi on the prolonged demands of the State. Concluding his speech he said that one should not be under the domination of caste, religion, gender and have to be self depended, conscious disciplined and place Sikkim in the map of the nation.
Earlier, the meeting had started with a brief welcome speech by the vice president KB Chamling.  The working committee president of the North and East district kept their annual reports. The representatives read out all the events at their respective areas and also put up their valuable suggestion to the party president. The representatives who addressed the gathering were Mohan Khatiwara (Tumin Lingee). Harihar Poudyal, Lochan Khatiwara (Pendam) CB Gurung (Namcheybong), Ashok Lama (Syari) Sharad Khadka ( Rumtek-Martam), Bhaskar Basnett (Upper Tadong) C Doma (Arithang) Santosh Mangar (Gangtok), Kamalmani Pandey (Upper Burtuk) Chedup Lepcha (Dzongu) Gay Tshering Bhutia (Yangyang). The meeting also observed two minutes of silence mourning the death of one of the party founder member and also the gram panchayat member Linkey, Dugo Bhutia, the loss of lives at Rolep landslide on 6th June and also the death of five youths of Kitam, South Sikkim who lost their live on road accident at the NH31A on 13th July. The president of the 14 constituencies also placed their annual reports.
