Bharat Chettri to lead Indian Olympic hockey team |
The Indian hockey team for the London Olympics Games has been announced. Goalkeeper Bharat Chetri will lead the 16-member team in the Games starting from July 27. Star midfielder Sardar Singh will be Vice Captain of the squad, which was announced on Monday by Hockey India. Other members of the team are, P R Sreejesh, V R Raghunath, Ignace Tirkey, Sandeep Singh, Gurbaj Singh, Birendra Lakra, Manpreet Singh, S V Sunil, Gurwinder Singh Chandi, Shivendra Singh, Danish Mujtaba, Tushar Khandker, Dharamvir Singh and S K Uthappa. Standby players are Sarvanjit Singh and Kothajit Singh. Eight-time Olympic Champions India will start their campaign against the Netherlands on July 30 in the men's hockey competition of London Games. |
