Fifty seats reserved for Sikkim students at Rabong NIT

GANGTOK, January 29 (IPR): Dr. GRC Reddy, Director, National Institute of Technology, (NIT), Calicut called on Chief Minister Pawan Chamling at his official residence Mintokgang here in the Capital.

During this short meeting, Dr. Reddy was all praise for the tranquil and peaceful environment of Sikkim and was highly impressed with the newly revamped MG Marg stretch, which has become a major tourist attraction in the capital. He also informed the Chief Minister of his visit to Rabongla, South Sikkim where NIT is proposed to be established and expressed his satisfaction about the location.

Further, Dr. Reddy also informed that NIT has allocated 90 seats for the State of Sikkim out of which 50 percent of the seats will be for the students of Sikkim.
The Chief Minister assured to extend all possible help and cooperation from State Government for the establishment of NIT.

The Director was accompanied by the Minister for Human Resource Development Department, NK Pradhan, Secretary R Telang, Director Technical Education Mrs. Jemima Pradhan and Dean NIT Calicut, Dr. TP Somasundaran.
