Bhaichung prefers Sikkim for football academy

Gangtok: Bhaichung Bhutia and John Abraham is likely to visit to Sikkim by October this year to meet the state government for allocation of land to start football academy in the state. It is learnt Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal are ready to allocate land for the proposed academy. But as Bhaichung hails from Sikkim he is more interested to set up the academy in Sikkim only.

General Secretary of Sikkim Football Association Mr. Menla Ethenpa says the proposal is very assuring for the future generation of the state. He is confident that that Sikkim government would definitely give top most priority to the proposal.

“We the people of hilly terrain know that flat land does not exist in the state but in this era of technology machines can turn a mountain into a flat land”, SFA GS said.

When asked about governor’s gold cup this year the GS informed that by coming week SFA executive body would meet to discuss over the event and to make the same more interesting. He added that in past three years the tournament could not be conducted so well because the dates of various other cups clashed with that of the governor’s cup.
