NEPAL: India wants to colonize Nepal – Bhattarai

KATHMANDU: Dr. Babu Ram Bhattarai injecting some confusion in the minds of those who take him as an India man, by default or otherwise, criticized India to some extent while addressing a program in Pathlaiya of Bara District, January 1, 2010. Dr. Bhattarai is the Unified Maoists’ Party vice chairman and during the fag end of the Maoists’ so-called Peoples’ War, was reportedly put in captivity for his alleged India stance by his own party boss-Prachanda.
He said, “We have though abolished the Shahi Durbar (Royal Palace), now we need to demolish the New Delhi Durbar in Nepal”.
“After the end of Shahi Durbar, the hegemony of Delhi Durbar continues to prevail in Nepali affairs unabated”.
“India wants to colonize Nepal”, so said Bhattarai quotes the Jana Disha Daily, January 2, 2010.
“Foreigners are trying to provoke Army to stage a coup d’état”, he said adding that “we should unite to wage another round of revolt to safeguard the Democratic Order”.
“To save the Democratic order, that has been established after the decade long revolt, we need to wage another round of revolt for the preservation of the same.”
Later inaugurating a Higher Secondary School in Ineruwa of Bara District, Dr. Bhattarai also said that the government was conspiring to restore the old regime.
