Factsheet: SIKKIM ACCORDED ENVIRONMENT CLEARANCE FOR 11 HYDRO PROJETCS OUT OF TOTAL OF 16 IN NORTH EAST.


A total of 16 HYDRO projects have been accorded Environmental Clearance during the last five years in North-Eastern Region.

The salient conditions stipulated for environmental clearance of power projects for Hydro Electric Projects include catchments area treatment, rehabilitation and resettlement (R&R) of affected persons, conservation of flora & fauna(including fishery), and compensatory afforestation, if forest land is involved.
