Cafe Coffee Day to go for new formats
Cafe Coffee Day (CCD) will roll out 65 loungestyle outlets and 10 speciality stores, and launch retail sales of coffee, a top official said on Monday.
CCD will open 10 speciality format stores called Coffee Day Square later this fiscal. Protoypes of the new formats have been tested in Bangalore.
“The new formats currently contribute close to 3% of our overall revenue, and we expect this to increase to 810% of our revenue in the next twothree years,“ director Alok Gupta said, adding that the firm has earmarked Rs150 crore for the new projects.
Earlier this year, CCD changed its logo, and it is rolling out a new look over the next three months.
The retail chain, a part of the Bangalorebased Amalgamated Bean Coffee Trading Co. Ltd, will open its lounges in a 1,200 sq. ft format.
The Coffee Day Squares will be around 2,000 sq ft. in size, while current CCD stores will go from 970 sq. ft to 1150 sq. ft by the end of fiscal 2010. The company will also launch a cafe nightclub format.
