Two private cos get stay order against IT dept

Two private companies have got astay order from the High Court of Sikkim directing the IncomeTax department to desist from any further proceedings againstthem until further orders, officials said today.

Teesta Rangit Pvt Ltd and Envision Pvt Ltd secured theinterim stay order from the court yesterday on a writ petitionfiled by them.

The IT office had reportedly carried out a 35-hoursurvey at the offices of the two companies on December 23 inthe absence of the owners of the companies.
