SIKKIM:Minister highlights Sikkim’s livelihood schools scheme in NE Business Summit
GANGTOK, January 17: The State HRD Minister NK Pradhan, who attended the NE Business Summit in Kolkata from January 8 to 9 highlighted the initiative been taken by Sikkim in the IT sector with special reference to the livelihood schools in the state under the capacity building programme.
He was present as the guest of honour for the session on IT and skill development held during the Summit. State IT Secretary RP Chingapa and Pr. Director IT Rajesh Verma also participated in the Summit.
The Summit focused to work out ways and means on how to stimulate the food processing industry in the north east was also attended by Ministers and Ambassadors from South East Asian countries like Myanmar, Vietnam, Union Minister from the Government of India, Secretaries from Central and State Government and big industrialists.
The inaugural function was graced by BK Handique, Minister DONER and Subdh Sahay Union Minister Food Processing Industry.
The NE Business Summit is an annual event organised by the Indian Chamber of Commerce in association with the Ministry of Development of north Eastern Region (DONER) with an aim to attract investors and discuss solutions to problems dogging the region, adds a press release
