IIM Ahmedabad to Host Entrepreneurship Summit - Dream Big India 2010

Dream Big India, IIM Ahmedabad’s Entrepreneurship Summit is ready to get off a roaring start on 12th January 2010. It promises to be an enriching experience for all those interested in entrepreneurship. The event has a line up of business plan competitions, workshops, a movie festival, lively panel discussions, a flute recital and speaker sessions by prominent entrepreneurs from different walks of life spread across two days.
The summit kicks off with the inauguration by Mr. S. R. Duggal, the founder director of ICRI followed by panel discussions. The diversity and stature of the speakers and panellists at the event will ensure that the event lives up to its promise of promoting social, economic, cultural and political entrepreneurship. Sanjiv Bhikchandani the founder of Naukri.com, Shaheen Mistry the CEO of Teach for India, Mr. P. D. Rai, a Member of Parliament from Sikkim and IIMA alumnus, Sramana Mitra, renowned author and columnist on Entrepreneurship for Forbes.com and Samir Patel who has a number of entrepreneurial initiatives to his credit are just a few of those who will be sharing their views on entrepreneurship at the event.
The IIMA Entrepreneurship Cell believes that a dream will always triumph over reality once it is given an opportunity. Dream Big India is a great opportunity for young budding entrepreneurs with events like Aarohan. Aarohan will showcase business plans of budding entrepreneurs from across the country and is scheduled for 12th January afternoon.
“I am the Change” Film Festival will run parallel with the event showcasing short films portraying everyday heroes who have brought about social change through their selfless service. A film making workshop by national award winning filmmaker, Sankalp Meshram and a script writing workshop by international filmmaker, Aparna Malladiand are also being organised as a part of the event.
The event will conclude with flute performance by Suramani Pravin Godkhindi, a “cultural entrepreneur”. Mr. Pravin gave his first concert at the age of 6, has worked with Louis Banks, performed with a Dutch rock band, BLOF and started a school for classical musicians and will also share the story of his fascinating journey at the event.
