Chamling appeals people to cooperate with enumerators

03 April, Gangtok: Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Kumar Chamling has appealed to the general public in the state to cooperate with the enumerators in the exercise to prepare the National Population Register (NPR).The enumerators will be visiting each household in Sikkim to collect data of the residents between April 7 to May 22, 2010, he said in a message.

The people should cooperate in the exercise for preparation of the National Population Register to enable the country to frame a national development policy on the basis of the 2011 census. The Centre has undertaken the first phase of 2011 Census during April to September 2010 all over the Country under the provisions of census Act, 1948 and the Citizenship Act, 1955.
