Annual Conference of State Minorities Commissions

The Annual Conference of State Minorities Commissions will take place here tomorrow at Vigyan Bhawan. It is being organized by the National Commissions for Minorities, which is a statutory body constituted under the National Commission for Minorities Act, 1992; and will be inaugurated by Union Minister of Home Affairs, Shri P. Chidambaram. Shri Salman Khurshid, Minister of Minority Affairs, will be the Guest of Honour. Thirteen State Governments have set up statutory commissions for minorities, whereas two states have non-statutory commissions.
