CM to flag off 6 City Runners today


GANGTOK, February 21: Heralding a new revolution in the city transport system of the Capital, Chief Minister Pawan Chamling will flag off six new City Runner buses at the SNT Bus Station in Gangtok tomorrow.

These buses are a part of 25 buses sanctioned for Sikkim under the Centre’s Jawaharlal Nehru Urban Renewal Mission.

The new Bus services will cover places like Bhusuk, Penengala, Luing, Lingdok and Ranka. With all the 25 new Buses costing around Rs 3 crore getting operational, the interval between the two bus services about two hours at present will get reduced to a great extent, SNT officials said.

Besides, all the important places in the periphery of Gangtok will get connected by City Bus Runner service.
